A Santa Clara County jury has convicted 51‑year‑old Shannon O’Connor, known locally as the 'Los Gatos Party Mom,' on 48 criminal counts including felony child abuse and two felony sex offenses for hosting alcohol‑ and sex‑fueled parties for young teens during the 2020–21 school year. Prosecutors said O’Connor cultivated close relationships with Los Gatos High School freshmen, was often the only adult present, and oversaw 'chaotic, alcohol‑soaked benders' at her home and a rented beach house where minors drank heavily, blacked out, and engaged in sexual activity. The 63‑count indictment, returned in 2023, followed a years‑long investigation and a roughly 16‑week trial that featured testimony from 20 young adults and 41 total witnesses, including victims identified as Jane and John Does who described abuse, normalization of underage sex, and violent behavior by some boys at the parties while O’Connor allegedly laughed or looked on. O’Connor has been jailed since her June 2021 arrest in Idaho and now faces a potential sentence of more than 30 years in prison if the judge applies aggravating factors when she is sentenced later this year.
