The family of 19-year-old Texas A&M student Brianna Aguilera has filed a $1 million wrongful death lawsuit in Travis County against the Austin Blacks Rugby Club and the UT Economics and Business Association, alleging they illegally and egregiously overserved alcohol to minors at a University of Texas football tailgate before Aguilera fell to her death from an Austin high-rise apartment around 1 a.m. on Nov. 29. The suit contends that the unlawful alcohol service left Aguilera grossly intoxicated and unable to control herself, challenges the police conclusion that her death was a suicide, and is intended to support the ongoing investigation by allowing the family’s attorney Tony Buzbee to subpoena phone records, documents and witness testimony.
