Kia is recalling about a quarter-million 2021–2024 K5 sedans in the U.S. after NHTSA said a damaged air‑inlet valve can cause the fuel tank to expand, contact hot exhaust components and melt, creating a fire risk. Dealers will replace the valve and inspect the fuel tank, replacing it if needed, at no cost; drivers may notice a popping sound near the tank, a check‑engine light, or rough running.
