Darius Hazard, 44, was arrested and charged with murder and arson after allegedly beating his parents, Venture, 76, and Donald, 83, then setting their North Adams, Massachusetts home on fire early Monday; both died of smoke inhalation, authorities said. Investigators say Hazard confessed to assaulting his parents, pouring gasoline and igniting the blaze before driving away; he was later detained in a Walmart parking lot, pleaded not guilty, and is held without bail.
