House Judiciary Chair Jim Jordan sent letters Monday to seven major ACA insurers and brokers — Blue Shield of California, Centene, CVS Health, Elevance Health, Kaiser Permanente, Oscar Health, and GuideWell — demanding data and internal communications on potential broker-driven enrollment fraud tied to enhanced premium tax credits. The committee cited allegations of deceptive advertising and income misreporting, requested counts of subsidized enrollments and non‑utilization, anti‑fraud communications and staff lists, and referenced GAO findings of anomalous APTC usage as lawmakers debate extending enhanced subsidies set to expire at year‑end.
