Feds raid Twin Cities autism centers amid fraud push

Federal and state agents raided two Twin Cities autism therapy centers Thursday, executing court-authorized searches at Iska Inc. in St. Louis Park and Bright Horizon Therapy Center in Edina as part of fraud investigations.[1]

The operation involved the FBI and federal investigators from the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General and IRS Criminal Investigation.[1] State and federal partners also included the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the Minnesota Medicaid Fraud Control Unit.[1]

Investigators described the actions as "court-authorized investigative activity" and said they are connected to fraud probes.[1] Officials did not specify charges or targets, and the raids do not by themselves prove guilt.[1]

A fraud-focused news conference is scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday in St. Cloud featuring Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, FBI Director Kash Patel, CMS Administrator Mehmet Oz and Federal Trade Commission Chairman Andrew Ferguson.[1] Vice President JD Vance canceled a planned trip to attend, and the White House gave no explanation for his absence.[1] Officials have not said whether the raids are linked to the St. Cloud announcement.[1]
