Medical Jet With Six Aboard Missing Off Nantucket, Search Underway

FAA lost contact with a Gulfstream G-100 medical jet carrying six people around 12 a.m. Central Saturday near Nantucket, and the U.S. Coast Guard is searching after flight data showed a rapid descent.[1]

The aircraft, registered to Latitude Air Ambulance, was flying from Bermuda to Boston with six people aboard.[1] It departed Bermuda at about 10:40 p.m. Central Friday and was due into Boston Logan around 12:30 a.m. Central Saturday.[1]

Flight tracking showed the jet dropped rapidly from about 24,000 to 11,000 feet before contact was lost.[1] U.S. Coast Guard air and surface units were searching off Nantucket following the loss of contact.[1]
