U.S. Reunites Abraham Accords Countries, Kazakhstan At First Post-Oct. 7 Meeting

On Thursday morning, Sept. 24, 2026, the State Department convened Abraham Accords countries in New York for their first official meeting since the Oct. 7, 2023 attacks, aiming to deepen cooperation and expand the pact.^[1]

Delegations from the United States, Israel, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Morocco and, for the first time, Kazakhstan attended a session in a midtown Manhattan office tower.^[1] Under Secretary Allison Hooker led the U.S. delegation and the N7 Foundation hosted the meeting to map next steps toward formal collaboration.^[1] A Kazakhstan embassy official said the country is eager to join the Abraham Accords and is focused on technology and transport partnerships.^[1] A senior administration official said Secretary of State Marco Rubio's team and envoy Steve Witkoff are clearly prioritizing Accords expansion.^[1]

On Oct. 7, 2023, the attacks disrupted regional ties and suspended formal Accords meetings.^[1] U.S. diplomacy since then has focused on reviving the framework and adding partners such as Kazakhstan, which U.S. and Kazakh officials say could bring tech and transport links.^[1]

Officials said the session laid groundwork for future meetings and for formalizing expanded cooperation among signatories and prospective members.^[1]
