Clear Eyes Recalls 40,000 Itchy Eye Drops Bottles Over Sterility Risk

Prestige Consumer Healthcare recalled nearly 40,000 bottles of Clear Eyes Maximum Itchy Eye Relief on July 29, 2026 after federal regulators warned of a sterility and contamination risk nationwide.[1]

The recall covers 15 mL bottles from lot code 2552A that expire Sept. 30, 2027 and were distributed nationwide.[1] The FDA labeled the action a Class II recall, meaning the defect could cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health effects.[1]

Prestige initiated the recall after notifying the FDA that it could not assure the sterility of the affected lot, the agency said in its notice.[1]
