FDA Raises Publix Frozen Berry Recall To Highest Health Risk Level
The Food and Drug Administration on August 18, 2026 upgraded Publix's recall of GreenWise organic frozen blueberry and mixed-berry products to a Class I recall, the agency's highest health-risk level.[1]
Twelve people infected with the outbreak strain of E. coli have been reported in two U.S. states, and no deaths have been reported.[1] Recalled products were shipped to Publix stores in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia and carry expiration dates before February 9, 2028.[1]
