Ford Recalls Over 565,000 Bronco SUVs For Engine Fire Risk
Ford is recalling up to 565,691 Bronco and Bronco Raptor SUVs from model years 2021-2026 over a risk that damaged wiring could cause an engine-compartment fire.[1]
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) says a wiring harness can short-circuit if damaged, creating heat, sparks, smoke or a fire that could cause serious injury or death.[1] Ford dealers will install protective sheathing over the affected wiring at no charge to owners.[1] Vehicle identification numbers were made searchable on NHTSA.gov on July 23, 2026, and owner notification letters will begin going out on August 24, 2026.[1]
The recall covers Bronco and Bronco Raptor models from the 2021 through 2026 model years after the automaker and federal safety officials identified the wiring-harness risk and moved to a formal remedy.[1] Ford said dealers will fit the sheathing free of charge, and owners can check their vehicles' VINs online to see if their SUV is included.[1]
