NYPD Rescues 43 People From Human Trafficking During World Cup
The New York Police Department says it rescued 43 people, including seven minors, from human trafficking linked to World Cup matches in the New York City area in operations June 11-July 19, 2026.[1]
Specialized NYPD detectives arrested 89 people and carried out 87 anti-trafficking operations during that period.[1] The rescued people are being provided food, housing and counseling by the NYPD Gender-Based Violence Police and Planning Unit.[1]
