Woman Injured, Suspect Detained After Shooting Near Colorado ICE Facility

A woman was shot Thursday night near the ICE detention facility on the 3100 block of Nome Street in Aurora, Colorado, and a man was detained as a potential suspect.[1]

Aurora police said the woman's injuries were not life-threatening.[1] The shooting happened outside the GEO Group-operated ICE facility and reportedly followed the conclusion of a weekly protest.[1]

On July 14, the FBI opened a separate investigation after gunfire damaged windows at an ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations building in Phoenix, Arizona; no injuries were reported in that incident.[1]
