Florida Man Charged After Alleged Three-Week Cross-Country Kidnapping
A Florida man was charged Thursday after authorities say he kidnapped his ex-girlfriend and drove her across the country before she escaped by leaping from a San Diego balcony, officials said.[1]
Sheriff Carmine Marceno said the suspect, 41-year-old Floyd Stuck, confiscated the woman's phone and wallet and drove her through several states while threatening her and her family.[1] Stuck was booked on charges including kidnapping, aggravated stalking, installing a tracking device without consent, and fleeing and eluding law enforcement.[1]
On April 20 the victim left Lee County, Florida, with Stuck for what was described as a three-day trip to New York.[1] Investigators say Stuck bound her in San Diego with zip ties and duct tape, and held a knife to her throat while saying she would be dead by morning.[1] After roughly three days at that location, law enforcement says she escaped by jumping from a balcony while Stuck was distracted by a food delivery and fled to a neighboring home.[1]
