Manhunt Underway After Four Inmates Escape Alabama Reentry Facility

Four inmates escaped from the Perry County Correctional PREP Center in Uniontown, Alabama around 1 a.m. Saturday, May 30, 2026, and a manhunt is underway.[1]

The escapees were identified as Marquavious Billingsley, Jaden Christopher Maxwell, Johnny Dave Harris Bush Jr., and Kevin Gunn; they were being held on serious charges including murder, first-degree robbery, first-degree assault, first-degree escape, breaking and entering vehicles, and promoting prison contraband.[1]

Sheriff Roy Fikes said public safety is the top priority and asked anyone with information to call 911 and not attempt to apprehend the escapees.[1]
