Faribault man gets 10 years for Lakeville coworker killing

Mohamed A. Hared, 26, was sentenced Friday, May 29, 2026, to 128 months in prison for second-degree unintentional murder while committing a felony in the Lakeville shooting.[1]

The victim was identified as 22-year-old coworker Ahmed Ibrahim Cariif, who was shot in the chest and died in the Amazon warehouse parking lot on June 29, 2024.[1] Hared pleaded guilty in January and was given credit for 700 days already served.[1]

The shooting followed an argument over a missing gun-mounted flashlight attachment, authorities said.[1]
