DNR to launch new e-licensing, pause fishing sales
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources will launch a new electronic licensing system for fishing and hunting on June 9, 2026, and will pause fishing license sales June 2-8 statewide.[1]
Anglers may fish without a license during the June 2-8 pause but must follow all other regulations and catch limits.[1] The new system replaces a platform that had been in place for more than 25 years and will later onboard recreational vehicle and watercraft titling and registration in a second phase.[1]
The DNR says the sales pause prevents overlapping transactions while accounts and storefronts move to the new system.[1] At present, titling and registration services for recreational vehicles and watercraft remain unchanged until phase two begins.[1]
