Uniformed Chatfield officer arrested for DWI in Bloomington

A 61-year-old part-time Chatfield police officer was arrested around midnight Thursday in Bloomington after a crash in the 9400 block of Lyndale Avenue on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.[1]

Bloomington Police Chief Booker Hodges said a breath test registered the officer's blood-alcohol concentration at 0.28, more than three times Minnesota's 0.08 legal limit.[1] An arraignment is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Friday, and Bloomington police released what they described as body-camera-style video of the arrest.[1]

Court records show the officer faces two counts of DWI and a charge of carrying a pistol while intoxicated.[1] He was working part time for the Chatfield Police Department, had left a Minnesota State Fairgrounds job about an hour before the crash, and was still in full uniform when officers arrested him at the Lyndale Avenue scene.[1]
