Seven Charged In Organized Burglary Spree Targeting Los Angeles Homes

Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman announced felony charges Tuesday against seven people accused of running an organized burglary ring that targeted homes across Los Angeles County.[1]

Prosecutors say at least 20 break-ins are linked to crews that operated across the San Fernando Valley and other parts of the county.[1] One defendant, Byron Gonzalo Sáez Sotomayor, faces 15 counts of first-degree residential burglary, three counts of attempted first-degree residential burglary and one count of grand theft of a firearm.[1]

Investigators say the crews monitored victims' social media, posed as delivery drivers, planted hidden cameras and used Wi-Fi jammers to defeat home security systems.[1]
