Stevevontae Dellshawn Champion, 30, was charged Monday, May 18, 2026, with second-degree murder in Hennepin County in the 2016 killing of Derrick Rodgers near Penn Ave. N. and Olson Memorial Hwy in Minneapolis.[1]
Police say Rodgers, 25, was killed May 11, 2016 after a shootout between a red Dodge and a black Impala.[1] The complaint says the shootout ended when Champion chased Rodgers and shot him multiple times.[1]
