Two inmates charged in 2022 Rice Street murder
Two inmates, Diontae Keyshawn Moore and Romello Ifonlaja-Randle, both 26, were charged Thursday with second-degree murder in a Rice Street shooting in St. Paul on August 31, 2022.[1]
Police say surveillance video, cell-phone location data and messages, ballistics from guns seized in a later raid, and an SUV registered to Moore linked the pair to the killing.[1] Ifonlaja-Randle is already serving a 32-year sentence for a 2023 Raspberry Island murder, and Moore is jailed on a Hennepin County weapons conviction.[1]
On August 31, 2022, witnesses reported 40-50 shots near Born's Bar on Rice Street.[1] Video showed two gunmen emerge from an SUV in an alley while another man near a 2017 Jaguar fired 20-30 rounds toward the alley.[1]
Both men remain behind bars.[1]
