NRCC Reports Record $47.1 Million Quarter And $28.1 Million March Fundraising

The National Republican Congressional Committee reported raising a record $47.1 million in the first quarter and $28.1 million in March 2026. NRCC said the March haul was its largest single-month total and that it has outraised the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee on average for five straight quarters. The committee also highlighted stronger fundraising and cash on hand for its targeted "swing-district patriots" versus DCCC "frontliners." NRCC said those targets averaged $1.2 million raised and $3.5 million cash on hand, compared with $919,000 raised and $2.4 million cash for DCCC targets.

Outside groups also reported big totals: the Congressional Leadership Fund and American Action Network have raised a combined $192.6 million this cycle, including $56.6 million in the first quarter. Congressional Leadership Fund said it raised a record $38.1 million in Q1 and expected to report $91.4 million cash on hand. NRCC figures released publicly included leadership fundraising as well, saying Speaker Mike Johnson raised $34 million in Q1 and more than $116 million in hard dollars this cycle. House Majority Leader Steve Scalise was credited with more than $10.1 million in the quarter.

Early reports simply noted a strong opening for the 2026 midterm fundraising cycle; later coverage added context on whom the money targeted and how allied groups performed. Fox News drove much of that deeper reporting by providing comparisons with the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and by tallying allied-group and leadership totals. CBS amplified the story on social media with an on-camera interview featuring the NRCC chair, framing the haul as the opening of the midterm cycle.
