Woman killed, suspect arrested in Hopkins shooting

Hopkins police say a woman was shot and killed Saturday afternoon on the 1300 block of Cambridge Street, where officers arriving around 3:30 p.m. found her with a gunshot wound and pronounced her dead at the scene. A man has been taken into custody in connection with the shooting, and investigators with Hopkins police, the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office and the Medical Examiner’s Office say there is no ongoing threat to the public while they work to determine what led up to the incident.
