U.S. sanctions Maduro nephews, six oil shippers

The Trump administration on Dec. 11, 2025 sanctioned three nephews of Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro’s wife, a Panamanian oil businessman, and six companies tied to vessels moving Venezuelan crude, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said. The action adds Efraín Antonio Campo Flores, Franqui Francisco Flores de Freitas, Carlos Erik Malpica Flores, Ramón Carretero Napolitano, and firms linked to the White Crane, Kiara M, H. Constance, Lattafa, Tamia and Monique to the SDN list, and follows the U.S. seizure of the SDN-listed tanker The Skipper a day earlier.
