Tornado damages 100+ homes near Houston

A tornado touched down Monday in Harris County’s Memorial Northwest neighborhood outside Houston, damaging more than 100 homes and blocking roads with debris; no injuries were reported. The National Weather Service issued a tornado watch for Southeast Texas, including Houston, until 1 a.m. Tuesday, and the Houston Fire Department deployed a five‑member saw team to clear toppled trees as multiple tornado and severe thunderstorm warnings were triggered throughout the day.
