DHS Secretary Kristi Noem announced at Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport on Sunday a $1 billion nationwide modernization of TSA screening equipment — including new scanners, X-ray systems, and Advanced Imaging Technology — to be deployed over the coming months. She also said select TSA employees who served during the recent 43‑day shutdown will receive $10,000 bonuses, following a separate DOT/FAA move last week awarding $10,000 to 776 air traffic staff.
