Missouri sues FDA over generic mifepristone approval

Missouri Attorney General Catherine Hanaway announced Thursday a lawsuit challenging the FDA’s Sept. 30 approval of a generic mifepristone by Evita Solutions, arguing mail-order distribution lacks required medical safeguards. Missouri, joined by Kansas and Idaho, asks the court to block the new approval, reinstate pre‑2016 in‑person evaluation requirements, and halt nationwide mailing of abortion pills.
