Ex-Minneapolis teacher pleads in child-porn case
Preston Casey Palmer, 35, a former Minneapolis Public Schools teacher, pleaded guilty Monday in Hennepin County District Court to six felony counts tied to solicitation, possession and distribution of child sexual abuse materials after a May 14 sting at Brackett Field Park in Longfellow. Prosecutors and defense agreed to a 10-year sentence; with jail credit, Palmer is expected to serve about 6⅓ years in prison and the rest on supervised release. He was arrested after Predator Poachers posed as a 13-year-old and the boy’s father; police say his phone contained 1,000+ files, with images of victims as young as 5, and MPS fired him following the charges.
