The Nevada governor's crime package titled the "Safe Streets and Neighborhoods Act" proposed increasing penalties for crimes including smash-and-grab robberies, assault and battery against hospitality employees, and DUIs involving a death.

The proposed "Safe Streets and Neighborhoods Act" included a provision to revive a court program that handled criminal cases originating on the Las Vegas Strip and to authorize orders banning people from that corridor for one year.

An amendment to the Nevada crime legislation proposed requiring detention facilities to maintain a running list of people they hold and prohibiting law enforcement officers, including immigration officers, from entering school grounds without a warrant or from obtaining information about a student.
