Reductions in on-site park staff limit routine monitoring and maintenance functions such as detecting water leaks, monitoring air and water quality, detecting invasive species and wildlife disease, safeguarding historic structures, and collecting entrance fees, which can increase risk of long-term damage to park resources and reduce program funding.
